Our City Initiative

The goal of Fondation Botnar's OurCity initiative, which was extended to Koforidua, Ghana, is to involve young people in the planning and governance of cities in order to make them into places that are focused on youth. Through the deployment of integrated schemes utilizing digital technologies and artificial intelligence, the initiative—which is a cooperation with the STAR-Ghana Foundation and Eastern Tech Hub Foundation—aims to empower communities worldwide. In order to develop more inclusive cities, the program focuses on encouraging collaboration among youthful demographics, civil society, legislators, innovators, and community activists. Young people will actively participate in determining the future of the city because the program will be co-created and implemented with them. aims to protect youth wellbeing by using AI and digital technologies to empower communities worldwide. It energizes stakeholders, affects policy, and brings about revolutionary change.

Mission

The vision of the OurCity initiative is to create cities that are focused on youth, where young people actively participate in shaping their future, and where collaboration among various stakeholders leads to innovative and transformative changes in urban environments.

The project aims to transform cities into youth-centric hubs, fostering partnerships, promoting relational wellbeing, and improving innovative city services for young people and the community.

OurCity functions as a dynamic process that, through extensive involvement and advocacy efforts, stimulates stakeholders and influences policy transformation.  Its primary objective is to evolve these urban centres into bastions where the welfare and prospects of young individuals are firmly safeguarded. STAR GHANA

The STAR Ghana Foundation serves as a national hub for fostering active citizenship and philanthropy. The foundation works towards cultivating a dynamic, well-informed, and empowered civil society capable of driving transformative national development and ensuring equitable access to accountable public services for all Ghanaians. STAR Ghana is in partnership with the following Divine Mothercare And Child Foundation(DMAC Foundation). Bebiaa B3y3 Fine Association (BBF). New Juaben South Youth Parliament (NJSYP). Anchito Foundation For Education & Self Help (AFES).

EASTERN TECH HUB

Eastern Tech Hub Eastern Tech Hub Foundation (ETH), situated in Koforidua, was founded on September 15, 2019, and commenced its full operations in March 2020. This initiative aims to create new business opportunities, add value to established companies in high-tech sectors, foster entrepreneurship, incubate innovative startups, and generate knowledge-based jobs.

The Structure

Our City Initiative :A Foundation Botnar funded program with two spearheading organizations-Eastern Tech Hub and Star Ghana. Divine Mother and Child Foundation,Youth Parliament,AFES and Bebiaa B3y3 Fine Association serve as wheels on which Star Ghana thrives in the initiative
